Instagram: Wut

Instagram was developed in San Francesco by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. Named for its way of communication based upon the fact that the users were sending an instant telegram, Instagram was born. Rewind back to the beginning of the app and you will find that the original prototype of Instagram was called Burbn. The revisions to this early access app made the app much more user friendly. Through these revisions everything besides the photos, liking, and commenting was stripped away. Instagram launched on October 6th 2010 and within two months it was a hit. It became the number one photo app with 100,000 users in the first week and 1 million by the second. The original purpose of Instagram was to be a photo sharing app. It has now grown into the largest growing social media platform on the planet with countless celebrities and billions of users. The intent of the app as of January 2020 is to indulge in the essence of socializing through their app. The app has adapted to the cultural wants and needs and has added many new things to accommodate the users. One of the biggest changes in phases of the instagram era was the switch from singularly square photo sizing into the photos in all sizes movement. Instagram made it possible to post a photo in any aspect ratio on the app in August of 2015. This change gave more creative freedom to the users and viewers. Another big change that instagram made in the hustle of social media would be when they added the ability to share stories. Stories are posts that only last twenty four hours and then they disappear. They added disappearing photo messages. They also added a lot of interesting and amazing filters that attach to your cameras inter dimensional space to warp what reality is through the camera on your phone in the app. Instagram is very well liked social media app. As of January 2020 the majority of the users of instagram share positive remarks towards the giant of a social media app.
